Use your own domain name to communicate in Client Portal

Updated over a week ago

In this article, we will talk about how you can white-label your client portal and apply your own branding.

Set your own domain/URL for the Client Portal

The client portal is hosted on https://portal.xenett.com by default. However, if you want to change the domain/URL, you can do the below configuration.

Add CNAME details to your domain servers to set up the custom domain.

  1. On the Dashboard, go to Settings

  2. Click on Custom Branding; under Custom Domain, add your subdomain, for example, portal.firmname.com or questions.abc.com

Here are some specific instructions for some common server hosts:

Domain status

Once you have updated your CNAME to domain name servers, you'll see the status Pending or Active.

Changes in DNS (Domain Name System) are usually reflected within a few minutes;

However, it may take longer, depending on the hosting provider. To get the updated status, click on the Refresh option. Once done, the status will update to Active on the screen, and you will be ready to start using your domain!

Delete your domain name

If you've entered the wrong domain name by mistake, you can delete it and re-enter. The Bin symbol beside your domain status does that.

Please get in touch with us if you need help via chat through our Help Center or at support@xenett.com.

Set your email address to communicate with your client

All emails from Xenett to your client users are sent from this email address - notifications@xenett.com. However, you can change your custom email address to set it up. The option to change the custom sender email address will only be enabled once you have added the custom domain.

Please follow these steps.

  1. Go to Settings>Custom Branding

  2. Add your email address under the Email Address section, for example, alerts@firmname.com.

  3. Add the DNS records (as stated above) to your domain server.

Apply your logo and customize the login page

You can add your choice of image to the client portal page so when your client logs in to the Client Portal, you can have them see your logo/your choice of image on their login page.

Set Firm Logo

You can set this from the Settings.

Set custom Login Image

You can also change the login page image. Default, it looks like below.
